About Me

Welcome one and all!

When I talk about "fitness" I am talking about more that just the physical aspects - Fitness includes the body, mind, and spirit.  My journey started during my first Psychology class as a Junior in High School.  I left that class wanting to continue to learn more about why we behave the way we do and if our behavior doesn't match our goals then I wanted to help individuals figure out why.

My higher education degrees are in Psychology and Counseling and I was a therapist for many years and now with the transition to Life Coach I continue to understand the mental and emotional difficulties in ones life around career, relationships, body image, weight loss, and physical fitness struggles and other struggles that play a huge part in overall mental, physical, and emotional health.

I am not your typical Life Coach and Personal Fitness Trainer.  I have struggled with being overweight all of my life which led to being bullied, depression, health issues, and not able to do the things I wanted to do physically.

The struggle got to the point where I needed to make a drastic change since I had tried everything including weight loss drugs, diets, liposuction (twice), liquid fasting, and of course, trying to exercise and eat healthy, but just could not control my eating habits or maintain a consistent routine.  That was due to simply a lack of knowledge and lack of help and being too proud or embarrassed to seek out that help.

I gave myself a goal one day that if I reached a certain weight, which was still overweight mind you, that I would enroll myself in a Martial Arts class to try to help continue that loss.  I loved Martial Arts movies and wanted to be just like Bruce Lee, Jet Li, or Jason Statham.  I reached that goal, enrolled in my first formal Martial Arts class, and moved up in the ranks to be a 4th Dan/Degree Blackbelt Master in Taekwondo and Kickboxing Instructor.

Here I am over 20 years later and I use those skills to this day in my Personal Training and Group Exercise Classes.  As a Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Group Exercise Instructor, and Certified Fitness Coach and Life Coach, I know I can help you at least get started in reaching your goals and provide the knowledge and tools necessary to succeed.
